It’s that time!
COOKIE TIME!
All across south Louisiana – from Baton Rouge to Lafayette to New Orleans, ovens will be working overtime this weekend- baking dozens upon dozen of cookies for the residents of Angola State Penitentiary.
From chocolate chip to oatmeal raisin to peanut butter (a favorite inside Angola) to plain old sugar cookies…

Here is how you should pack your cookies in a quart size bag. Don’t worry about labeling them – although you get bonus points if you do! 🙂
Each team member tries to get 100 dozen cookies baked and prepared.
It always sounds like a daunting task, but somehow, the cookies arrive; seemingly like magic, but we know it’s not magic. Instead, it’s the power of the Holy Spirit.
Each and every cookie will be carefully prepared and intentionally prayed over, two characteristics that mirror the team itself.
Kairos team members will tell you, as a retreat begins, there are always a handful of incredibly honest residents who say, “I’m just here for the cookies.”
Well guess what? So are we!
Because Kairos cookies have more than just flour, sugar and butter.
Kairos cookies are filled with prayer, compassion, grace and love.
And guess where those ingredients come from?
So yes – come for the cookies! Enjoy every bite because we promise you – these cookies have Jesus in ’em and you’ll be filled in more ways than one.
