What a Start!

Team 61 got off to a fantastic start.

Here are some notes from the first meeting.

We will meet again this Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge – fellowship begins at 8:30am.

PRAYER

First, do not forget about our prayer chain. It is incredibly important to pass this link around to your friends and family. As you know, the entire weekend (every single minute) will be covered in prayer.

This prayer chain is a fantastic way for friends and family to get involved in Kairos.

The prayer chain can be found here.

CLOSING

Speaking of friends and family, do not forget about Closing.

For those of you new to Kairos, this is an opportunity for friends and loved ones to attend the closing ceremony at Angola. More information on closing, including the closing application, can be found on our closing page.

COOKIES

100 dozen. That’s 1,200 cookies.

Here is how you should pack your cookies in a quart size bag. Don't worry about labeling them - although you get bonus points if you do! :)

The number is intimidating, isn’t it?

Don’t worry – folks love to help and they love to bake cookies and we have all the answers you need on our cookies page.

Also – don’t forget about Kathy Michael’s invitation for the Cookie Bake/Potluck March 1 and 3 from 2pm-8pm at Mount Pilgrim Baptist, 9700 Scenic Highway.

Bring your cookie dough, if you have it, quart-sized ziplock bags, cardboard boxes, postage tape and POTLUCK DISH.

If you don’t have everything, don’t worry. Bring what you have and some food and drink to share.

DOC TRAINING

For those of you who missed the Department of Corrections training in January, Saturday’s meeting (February 13th) is mandatory.

This training will be conducted by the chaplain at Angola is required for anyone who is to serve on the team and enter the prison.

Please don’t miss Saturdays meeting.
